A college in London contacted Elite Energy, they had used a local authority-buying group before and were very sceptical that Elite could save them money and find them a better contract. The main reason for the sceptcism was due to the fact that Elite’s service is free of charge.
We explained that our company had gold service contracts with all UK suppliers, and we are paid a commission from these suppliers. Furthermore we are fully independent and do not champion any supplier, our customer is the most important part of the puzzle.
After analysing their bills, we noticed two things were wrong.
Solution:
Elite Energy went into the market place and asked seven alternative suppliers, including the college’s current supplier to quote for this contract.
We then spoke to the college about potential growth, and with the feedback we received we informed them that they were never going to need more than 190KVA.
Elite then presented the college with a choice of contracts from the best two suppliers; the college chose the best supplier for them, and in doing so saved over £10,000, or 19%.
Elite will continue to monitor the situation; we will inform the college of any re-active power losses they may incur due to inefficient equipment.
And in the near future we will arrange a CARBON TRUST survey to see how we can reduce their energy consumption, and if they decide, we can offset their carbon footprint (effectively free of charge).
Whilst cold calling for business (not very exciting) Elite Energy came across an Abbey based on the Isle of Wight. The conversation as usual got to the stage of talking about increasing prices and how they could save money.
The Abbey was still under contract but both parties decided it would still be a good idea for Elite to look at their contract. With closer inspection and putting their contract and bills together, we noticed it was not contract compliant.
After intense negotiations with the supplier Elite managed a refund of Over £20,000.
| Overcharges on gas supplied over 4 years | £18,944.10 |
| VAT adjustment to 5% | £2,015.33 |
| Total recovery | £20,959.43 |

In addition, as a gesture of goodwill, the contract was extended for a further 6 months at the original contract rates which are considerably lower than those now available.
A company who had multiple sites contacted Elite. The company had been with several suppliers for the last 5 years, some sites were on quite good contracts but others were on very high tariffs and paying way too much.
Once Elite had contacted all sites and received a copy of the individual contracts and copy of bills we could tell straight away that there were huge savings to be made. The biggest concern to Elite was the fact each site had different contracts; some had seasonal contracts (not good) some had good rates but the standing charges were far to high.
Elite automatically allocated the company their own account manager; the company saved over 25% in total.
Once the customers energy contracts had been put into place Elite organised a site visit to each location, an energy efficient walk around was carried out and Elite helped the customer implement several simple low cost changes that saved a further 10%.
Elite has since arranges a visit by the Carbon Trust to see where further saving can be made. Later this year the company in to offset its Carbon footprint with some of the money it has saved.
